Suite à un parcours musical passant par
l' Académie de Musique de Monaco puis, une
collaboration avec Roger Grosjean alors
directeur du Conservatoire de Jazz de Monaco,
ainsi que la création et la direction de quelques
groupes locaux, Marc Ceccotti crée au début
des années 80 le groupe EDHELS en compagnie de : Jean-Louis Suzzoni ancien camarade de l'académie de musique. Un peu comparable au navire de "Marco polo" EDHELS navigue dans des mers musicales Intenses et colorées, sans toutefois jeter l'ancre longtemps dans le même port sinon le temps de réaliser un album témoignage de ses voyages imaginaires. Le premier équipage fut donc formé de: Marc Ceccotti : Guitares & Claviers /Jean-Louis Suzzoni : Guitares /Noël Damon: Claviers & Percussions /Jacky Rosati : Batterie, Percussions & Claviers .Avec cette formation EDHELS a réalisé trois albums produits et distribués par le label Français Musea : ORIENTAL CHRISTMAS 1985 STILL DREAM 1988 ASTRO-LOGICAL 1991.En 1993 Marc Ceccotti réalise: M.A.S.C. Un album solo produit par Mellow Records, Italie.Noël Damon ayant décider d'arrêter sa participation sur l 'île "Astro- Logical". Un nouvel équipage fut créé avec l'arrivée de Jean-Marc Bastianelli aux claviers, chant et percussions. Le deuxième équipage formé de: Marc Ceccotti : Guitares & Claviers /Jean-Louis Suzzoni : Guitares /Jacky Rosati : Batterie, Percussions & Claviers /Jean-Marc Bastianelli : Claviers, Percussions & Chant cet equipage réalise en 1997 l'album : ANGEL'S PROMISE ( CD FGBG 4220 AR ),toujours produit et distribué par Musea, cet album est le premier à présenter des titres chantés contrairement aux précédents qui étaient essentiellement instrumentaux.Cette même année 1997, EDHELS est longuement et à plusieurs reprises cité dans une encyclopédie publiée par l' Université Oxford de New York sous le titre Rocking the Classics : English Progressive Rock and the Counter-Culture d' Edward Macan.L'auteur fait dans cet ouvrage , l'inventaire et l'analyse des tendances neo- progressives et, il souligne l'influence à ses yeux essentielle d' EDHELS, seul groupe Français jugé digne de figurer dans cette étude. Il est par ailleurs fort élogieux dans les commentaires qu'il consacre aux principales compositions des albums enregistrés par le groupe. Les albums du groupe se vendent dans plusieurs pays étrangers :USA, JAPON, MEXIQUE, COREE du SUD, ARGENTINE,BRESIL, COSTA RICA, ANGLETERRE, ALLEMAGNE,GRECE, HONGRIE, ITALIE, HOLLANDE,NOUVELLE ZELANDE, NORVEGE, POLOGNE, PORTUGAL, RUSSIE,ESPAGNE ,REPUBLIQUE TCHEQUE, MOYEN-ORIENT, FRANCE, etc.… Fin 1997 Jacky Rosati décide d'arrêter son parcours sur l'île "Angel's Promise".Un nouvel équipage est constitué avec les éléments suivants :Marc Ceccotti : Guitares & Claviers/Jean-Louis Suzzoni : Guitares/Jean-Marc Bastianelli : Claviers, Percussions & Chant /Yannick Chavatier : Batterie & Percussions/Lionel Routier : Basse . Afin de mieux communiquer les récits de ses aventures, notamment pour la scène , EDHELS décide de s'entourer d'une équipe d'artistes et techniciens très efficaces, Quelques concerts sont donnés avec cette nouvelle Formule dans le courant 1997 / 1998 . After a musical background started at the Monaco Academy of Music, then a joint venture with Roger Grosjean, at the time director of the Monaco Jazz Conservatory, as well as the founding and direction of local groups, Marc Ceccotti created at the beginning of the 1980's the group EDHELS, together with Jean-Louis Suzzoni a class mate from the Music Academy. Somewhat comparable to the "Marco polo" ship EDHELS sails in deep and colourful oceans, not dropping anchor in the same port for long , just the time to create an album describing their imaginary travels .The first crew consisted of: Marc Ceccotti : Guitars & Keyboards /Jean-Louis Suzzoni : Guitars /Noël Damon : Keyboards & Percussions/Jacky Rosati : Drums, Percussions & Keyboards.With this first formation EDHELS recorded three albums which were produced and distributed by the French label Musea : ORIENTAL CHRISTMAS 1985. STILL DREAM 1988. ASTRO-LOGICAL 1991.
In 1993 Marc Ceccotti recorded M.A.S.C. a solo album produced by Mellow Record in Italy.Noel Damon having decided to leave the group on the "Astro-Logical" island a new crew was formed with the arrival of Jean Marc Bastianelli on keyboards, vocal and percussions. The second crew consisting of: Marc Ceccotti : Guitars & Keyboards /Jean-Louis Suzzoni : Guitars /Jacky Rosati : Drums, Percussions & Keyboards /Jean-Marc Bastianelli :Keyboards, Percussions & Vocal .They recorded in 1997 the album ANGEL'S PROMISE again produced and distributed by Musea, this album was the first with vocal tracks as opposed to the earlier albums which were essentially instrumental. In this same year : 1997, EDHELS is cited in length and more than once in an encyclopaedia published by the Oxford University of New York, under the heading, Rocking the Classics English Progressive Rock and the Counter Culture by Edward Macan. The author surveys and analyses In his work the trend "neo progressive" and he stresses the influence of EDHELS, the only French group, in his opinion, worthy of a mention in this study He is, indeed, very flattering in his comments on the principal tracks of the albums the group have recorded. The group' s albums are distributed in many foreign countries: USA, JAPAN, MEXICO, COREA , ARGENTINA, BRASIL, COSTA RICA, ENGLAND, GERMANY, GREECE, HUNGARY, ITALY,HOLLANDE, NEW ZELANDE, NORWAY, POLAND,PORTUGAL, RUSSIA, SPANE REPUBLIQUE TCHEQUE, MIDDLE EAST, SUEDE, FRANCE, etc...At the end of 1997, after the creation of "Angel's Promise", Jacky Rosati decides to leave EDHELS and a new crew is formed with the following: Marc Ceccotti : Guitars & Keyboards /Jean-Louis Suzzoni : Guitars /Jean-Marc Bastianelli :
Keyboards, Percussions & Vocal/ Yannick Chavatier : Drums & Percussions / Lionel Routier : Bass-Guitar .In order to better communicate its message,EDHELS decides to include in it's line-up a group of talented artists. Some concerts with this new formation are given. The response from the public and from the press are both excellent.
